Re-enactments are set for this weekend at the Vicksburg National Military Park.

Actors will be stationed at the Gen. Tilghman statue — Tour Stop 11 — on Confederate Avenue in the park. The actors will demonstrate Civil War weaponry, drills, cooking and camp and soldier life.

Also, Saturdays this month, each half-hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the USS Cairo Museum, 15-minute talks will be given in observance of Black History Month. The theme is A Free People on a Free River: The African-American Experience in Occupied Vicksburg.
