Bringing people out

Warm sunshine was just the ticket to get people to the banks of the Mississippi River Wednesday afternoon. The sun falls between the spokes on a cannon carriage wheel at Navy Circle while setting over the Mississippi River. Navy Circle was the site of Battery Benton, which was a Union position during the siege of Vicksburg. The temperature Wednesday was a record high of 81 for the date, but it was expected to drop later today and Friday.
