City man charged with cocaine possession

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail for possession of 30 grams of cocaine.

Devaris Moton, 23, 211 Belva Drive, was arrested at 7 p.m. Wednesday at his home.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, said Sgt. Sandra Johnson.

Moton was being held without bond because he was already out on a bond on a prior charge, said Johnson.

City suspect charged in damage to police car

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail for damaging a city police vehicle.

Lucius Chambers, 54, 2405 Cherry St., was initially arrested on a charge of misdemeanor domestic violence after police were called to his home, said Sgt. Sandra Johnson.

He was seen by police yelling abusively at his wife, said Johnson.

While a policeman was arresting Chambers, he damaged the police vehicle by breaking the window and bending the door frame, said Johnson.

He was charged with felony malicious mischief because the damage to the police vehicle was more than $500, said Johnson.

Chambers was being held on a $7,500 bond.

Vehicle reported stolen on Grange Hall Road

An auto theft was reported in Vicksburg at 3:54 p.m. Wednesday.

A 2006 blue Chevy Uplander minivan was reported missing from a residence in the 200 block of Grange Hall Road.
