Britton and Koontz Bank to pay 18-cent dividend

The board of directors of Britton & Koontz Capital Corporation has declared a quarterly cash dividend of 18 cents per share to shareholders of record as of Feb. 28, which will be paid March 13.

The bank, which is based in Natchez and operates branches in Vicksburg, operates under as B&K.

The Vicksburg District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has named Kavanaugh Breazeale deputy chief of public affairs.

Breazeale, a Port Gibson native and a Chamberlain Hunt Academy graduate, will be responsible for community relations and internal command information.

He was public affairs officer for the Department of Defense in New Orleans and spokesman for the Department of Defense in Birmingham.

Breazele is a major in the U.S. Army Reserve and is assigned to the 377th Theater Sustainment Command in New Orleans. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Mississippi and is married to the former Amanda Thienpont of Birmingham.

Port, economic chief to speak at VAMP

Wayne Mansfield, executive director of the Warren County Port Commission and Vicksburg Warren County Economic Development Foundation, will be the speaker at the March meeting of the Vicksburg Association of Marketing Professionals.

The meeting will be at noon March 3 at Ameristar Casino’s Heritage Buffet.

Beekeeping seminars offered across state

The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce will host a series of beekeeping workshops.

The seminars aim to recruit and educate beekeepers in Mississippi. They will begin with a lecture and end with field experiences. The workshops are free, but pre-registration is recommended. For information, call 662-325-3390 or e-mail harry@mdac.state.ms.us.
