JACKSON — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LDOTD) will be performing bridge repair work on the Interstate 20 Mississippi River Bridge at Vicksburg beginning on Monday, March 2. Crews will close the westbound outside lane of Interstate 20.

The westbound outside lane closure will remain in effect beginning Monday, March 2 through April 9, 2009.  Crews will again close the westbound outside lane on April 14, 2009 and it will remain closed until May 30, 2009. Delays are expected while this work is being done.

Commuters traveling through the area should be aware that during these lane closures vehicles 12 feet wide will be allowed to pass through the construction work zone.   On each Friday during these closures from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., a minimum horizontal clearance of 18 feet will be provided to allow wide loads to pass through the work zone.
