Hunter Renfroe homered and doubled, and Copiah Academy took advantage of eight errors by Porters Chapel to crush the Eagles, 17-2 on Thursday.

Clayton Holmes had a double for PCA (2-1), but the team’s mistakes in the field were too much to overcome. Five errors in the bottom of the fourth led to a 10-run inning for Copiah.

“We had opportunities to get out of jams and we just didn’t do it,” PCA coach Randy Wright said. “The great thing about baseball is you get to try it again tomorrow.”

PCA will play at Indianola Academy on Saturday at 2 p.m.
