John Willie “Mickey” Jones Sr. died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at his home. He was 75.

Mr. Jones was a retired concrete finisher. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Joe Sr. and Sylvia Givens Jones.; two brothers, Willie Joe Jones Jr. and Cleveland Jones; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Jones and Mary Lou J. Ricks.

Survivors include his three sons, John Willie Jones Jr. and Robert Jones, both of Vicksburg, and Sammie Jones of Las Vegas; four daughters, Earline Jones and Coniela Jones, both of Vicksburg, and Rose McGill and Mary Henry, both of Texarkana, Texas; two brothers, James W. Jones and Robert Jones, both of New Orleans; three sisters, Willi Mae J. Sims of Vicksburg and Ethel J. Tayor and Rose J. Ben, both of New Orleans; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
