Floyd Kelly Jr.

Floyd Kelly Jr. died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 70.

Born in Jones, La., he was the son of the late Floyd Kelly Sr. and Christine Jones Kelly. Mr. Kelly had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 35 years, and he and his wife owned and operated River City Antiques. Mr. Kelly was a member of the National Auctioneers Association and other professional associations. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, June M. Kelly of Vicksburg; a daughter, Crystal K. Richie of Vicksburg; five sisters, Mary Frances Goodson of Bastrop, La., Helen L. Waldrop of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Glenda Price and her husband, Don, of West Monroe, La., Joyce Dollar and her husband, Nathan, of Vicksburg, and Elaine Williams and her husband, Bruce, of Vicksburg; two brothers, Steve Kelly and his wife, Debra, of Vicksburg, and Jerry Kelly and his wife, Sandra, of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Derek Nugent, Delicia N. McMillian and Dayna N. Haney; and four great-grandchildren, Bailey McMillian, Kolby McMillian, Ashton Nugent and Christopher Haney.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Brumfield, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon Monday until the hour of the service.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4830 McWillie Circle, Jackson, Miss. 39206, and to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1193, Vicksburg, MS. 39181.

Pallbearers will be Stan Austin, Albert Hossley Jr., Brian Haney, J.J. Hollis, Jason Hollis, Jodie Tomlinson, Buster Vinson and Chad Williams.
