Employees with Sanders and Hollingsworth Builders fit siding on the 25-year-old Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau building on Clay Street and Old Highway 27 Monday. The building, which is being repainted white with a gray roof to make it more noticeable from the intersection, is being remodeled to house a reception and information area and handicap accessible restrooms. Additionally, a new handicap ramp will be added to the porch. Executive director Bill Seratt said offices will continue to be housed in a mobile home on the lot until office space is found downtown. Then the mobile home will be removed to provide more parking space for the center. A picnic area with a gazebo and dog walking area are also planned, Seratt said.
