Ludella Mae Shears died Monday, March 16, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 65.

Ms. Shears was a member of Seventh Star M.B. Church in Utica. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father, R.D. Evans Sr.; one daughter, Caffie Mae Shears; and four brothers, Albert Earl Evans, James Evans, R.D. Evans Jr. and Leroy Evans.

Survivors include her mother, Ida Mae Evans of Vicksburg; three sons, James Earl Shears, Willie James Shears and Johnny Lee Shears, all of Vicksburg; two daughters, Geneva Shears of Meridian and Carol Marie Shears of Vicksburg; two brothers, John L. Evans and Tommy Evans, both of Vicksburg; four sisters, Willie D. Harper of Birmingham and Mary Carson Thomas, Edna Evans and Bobbie Chambers, all of Vicksburg; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
