About 28 customers of Entergy Mississippi remained without power this morning after an AT&T pole snapped due to tension and fell across electricity lines, Entergy spokesman Don Arnold said.

About 700 on both sides of Interstate 20 lost power, including North and South Frontage roads, Manor Drive, Plaza Drive, Wisconsin Avenue and Pemberton Square Boulevard. Most without power this morning were businesses along North Frontage Road.

Utility crews were expected to be repairing downed lines until at least noon today, Arnold said.

Outages were first reported to Entergy at 9:50 p.m., Arnold said. Most who lost power initially were reconnected by 11:04 p.m., Arnold said.

A main breaker lost power as a result of the pole snap, Arnold said, causing the extended outage.
