Port Gibson splits with Forest Hill|Prep baseball

Jessie Hicks threw a three-hit shutout, Rudy Wilson had a big day at the plate, and Port Gibson earned its first division win of the season Thursday by beating Forest Hill 6-0 in the second game of a doubleheader.
Wilson went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two RBIs and two runs scored. Hicks helped his own cause with two hits, but did most of his damage on the mound. He went seven innings, allowing just three hits while striking out seven for the Blue Waves (4-8, 1-8 Division 6-4A).
In the first game, Forest Hill scored four runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh to beat Port Gibson 11-7. Hicks hit a grand slam for Port Gibson, while Silento Sayles and Wilson each had two hits.
