Charlie J. Clark Sr.

ANGUILLA — Charlie J. Clark Sr. died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 90.
Mr. Clark was born in Duck Hill and moved to Anguilla in 1930. He worked for Delta Implement Company as parts manager and retired in 1985. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Anguilla, Deer Creek Lodge No. 356 and 32nd degree Scottish Rite Masons.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael W. Grable; three sisters, Pauline Hovis, Grace Couch and Ruth Steilburg; and a brother, Oscar B. Clark.
Survivors include his wife, Lurli K. Clark of Anguilla; two sons, C.J. Clark Jr. and Oscar C. Clark, both of Anguilla; one daughter, Barbara Jane Grable of Anguilla; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Anguilla with the Revs. Keith Westbrook and Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
Pallbearers will be Craig Boykin, Russell Stewart, Neal Clinkscales, Charles Keever, Paul King and Rocky Evans.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Scott, Dr. Dan Jackson, Dr. Mehar Oad, Tony Intire, Joe Hicks and members of the Blue Lake Hunting Club.
Memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Hospital in Jackson or St. Jude Hospital in Memphis.
