Dyess to wed Mr. May at St. Michael Catholic

The engagement of Leslie Anne Dyess to Robert Wade May, both of Jackson, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 7:30 p.m. June 13, 2009, at St. Michael Catholic Church. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.
Miss Dyess is the daughter of Leanne Metzger Dyess of Vicksburg and Norman Anthony “Tony” Dyess of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of Eleanor Metzger and the late Marion Metzger Jr. of Vicksburg and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dyess of Columbia.
Mr. May is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Teddy Harper of Magee and Mr. and Mrs. Pete May of Bogota, Colombia, South America. He is the grandson of Betty Wade and the late Dr. Frank Wade Sr. of Magee and the late Ruby May of D’Lo.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of St. Aloysius High School in Vicksburg, where she was a member of the Flashettes dance squad, basketball team, softball team and swim team.
She attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she served as director-at-large for the Mississippi Association of Student Nurses at UMC and first vice president at the state level for the Mississippi Association of Student Nurses.
Miss Dyess is a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Simpson County Academy, where he was on the baseball and football teams.
He attended the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Sigma Theta Tau.
Mr. May is a registered nurse for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
