If you blinked, you likely missed a doubleheader.

The Gators have already locked up the division championship and will host a first-round playoff series.

Bowen Woodson was front and center for the Gators offensively. The third baseman doubled and blasted a three-run bomb in the second game and singled twice with another RBI in the first.

“We’re really hitting the ball well,” Vicksburg coach Jamie Creel said after his team earned their third consecutive run-rule victory.

In the first game, the Gators (14-5, 10-0) put the pedal to metal out of the gate and never looked back, batting around in the bottom of the first.

Vicksburg put 14 runs on the board in the frame to give starter Jacob Thomas (3-1) plenty of run support.

Thomas earned the win and struck out four in a short outing. Ryan Ferrington doubled and singled with an RBI. Trey Prentiss singled twice and drove in a pair. Kurt Cooksey drove in two runs off a double. Tyler Temple doubled and singled with two RBIs.

In the second game, Ryan Ferrington improved to 3-2 with seven strikeouts in five innings. He also doubled and singled. Jason Pettway finished the contest with two strikeouts in one inning of work.
