Ameristar names senior VP, GM

Bruce Howard has been named senior vice president and general manager of Ameristar Casino Vicksburg Hotel.

Howard, a 23-year gaming industry veteran, assumed his duties Monday. He succeeds Adrian Caldwell, who resigned to pursue other opportunities.

“With his impressive background in operations for a variety of gaming companies, we are excited to have Bruce rejoin the Ameristar team in this important post,” said Michelle Shriver, Ameristar senior vice president of operations.

Howard was assistant general manager for Ameristar Casino St. Charles, outside St. Louis, from 2002 to 2003. Earlier, he spent a decade at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas as assistant director of food and beverage and worked in senior positions at Bally’s and Aladdin.

Howard, 51, graduated from Florida International University in Miami, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
