Dykes to marry Mr. Smith on June 6

Rose Marie Josey Dykes and Thomas Eugene Dykes Sr. of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Ann Marie of Ridgeland, to Heidle Carter Smith, also of Ridgeland. Mr. Smith is the son of Mille Provenza Smith of Cordova, Tenn., and Mr. and Mrs. Heidle Joe Smith of Brownsboro, Texas.
Miss Dykes is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Josey of Vicksburg, formerly of Natchez, and Mrs. Willis Eugene Dykes of Vicksburg and the late Mr. Dykes.
Mr. Smith is the grandson of Sam Provenza of Greenville and the late Mrs. Sam Provenza, the Rev. and Mrs. Homer Clyde Peden of Hattiesburg and the late Orville Smith.
The bride-elect is an honor graduate of Vicksburg High School.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Mississippi State University, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority.
Miss Dykes is an eighth-grade English teacher at Northwest Rankin Middle School in Brandon.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Deer Creek High School in Edmond, Okla.
He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Mississippi Law School.
Mr. Smith is an attorney at McRaney & McRaney Law Firm and a solo practitioner in Flowood.
The wedding will be at 5 p.m. June 6, 2009, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church.
A reception will follow at Magnolia Bluff.
