The engagement of Deborah Silver to Alex Boerner, both of Stuart, Fla., is announced today. Vows will be exchanged May 9, 2009.

Miss Silver is the daughter of Michael Silver of Jackson, Tenn., and Lesley Silver of Vicksburg.

Mr. Boerner is the son of Carol Buschbom of Minnetonka, Minn., and the late William Boerner.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Vicksburg High School. She received a degree in political science from the University of Maryland at College Park.

She is a photographer for Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Minnetonka High School. He received a degree in entrepreneurship from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.
