Schaffer, McGahey to exchange vows May 9

The engagement of Jennifer Jean Schaffer to Adam Thomas McGahey, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 5 p.m. May 9, 2009, at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Schaffer is the daughter of Robert Moore Schaffer and Melanie McNeil, both of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Cason and Francis Schaffer of Vicksburg and the late William and Bettie Middleton.

Mr. McGahey is the son of Ariel Mims of Jackson and Thomas McGahey of Brandon. He is the grandson of Samuel and Elizabet McGahey of Clinton.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Vicksburg High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design from Mississippi State University.

Miss Schaffer is a production designer at The Vicksburg Post.

The prospective groom is a graduate of McLaurin High School. He is attending Hinds Community College.

Mr. McGahey is a military police corporal for the Army Reserve and has returned from his second deployment to Iraq.
