Pounds, Spencer tell plans to wed in Oxford

Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pounds of Houston announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Leigh Pounds of Tupelo, to Justin Loyd Spencer of Oxford. Mr. Spencer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Spencer of Oxford.

Miss Pounds is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Windell Pounds of Woodland, Miss., and Miss Jane McGregor and the late Mr. James McGregor of Hot Springs, Ark.

Mr. Spencer is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Lutz of Pattison and the late Mr. and Mrs. Evelyn Spencer of Port Gibson.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Houston High School.

She received a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree from the University of Mississippi in accounting.

She is employed by Nail McKinney Professional Association of Tupelo.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Chamberlain Hunt Academy in Port Gibson.

He will receive his doctoral degree in mathematics from the University of Mississippi in August.

He is employed by the University of Mississippi as a graduate assistant.

Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. May 23, 2009, at Oxford-University Methodist Church in Oxford.

A reception will follow at The Downtown Grill.

Family and friends are invited.
