Edgar Eugene Sylvester

Edgar Eugene “Gene” Sylvester died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at the Veterans Community Living Center in Jackson. He was 64.
Mr. Sylvester, a former resident of Eagle Lake, was a self-employed air conditioning, heating and refrigeration contractor. He was a member of Pocahontas Baptist Church. He was a member of VFW 2572 and the American Legion in Vicksburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Eugene “Sam” Sylvester.
Survivors include his two daughters, Angelia McDonald of Magee and Stephanie Shaw of Richland; a son, Joey Case of Pearl; his mother, Norma Sylvester of West River, Md.; a sister, Sherry Dryden of West River; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pocahontas Baptist Church in Jackson. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital or the Salvation Army.
