STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — Eddie Gaines died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Emory University Hospital in Georgia. He was 56.

Mr. Gaines was a native of Lorman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Sr. and Bessie Coleman Gaines; and a sister, Betty Gaines.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Gaines of Stone Mountain; two daughters, Vanessa Gaines of Stone Mountain and Shavonda Gaines of Lancaster, Texas; two brothers, Wilson Gaines Jr. of Lorman and Maurice Gaines of Las Vegas; a sister, Johnnie R. Claiborne of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Raleigh Rucker Funeral Home, 2199 Candler Road, in Decatur, Ga.
