County man’s condition serious after accident

A Warren County man was in serious condition at University Medical Center in Jackson Saturday evening, said a hospital spokesman, following a one-vehicle wreck on Freetown Road just east of Grey Creek Drive.

Timothy Steve Goings, 30, 2255 Freetown Road, Lot 21, was distracted around 5:30 Saturday morning, causing his vehicle to veer off an embankment, said Warren County Sheriff Deputy Tim Ware. His vehicle rolled before running into and splitting a utility pole, said Ware. Goings was taken to River Region Medical Center before being transferred to UMC.

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail Saturday night without bond on a domestic assault charge. Steven Barrett, 26, 80 Frank Williams Drive, was arrested by Warren County sheriff’s deputies at approximately 5 a.m. Saturday.

Wreck knocks out traffic signal

A two car wreck at Indiana Avenue and Mission 66 sent two people to the hospital and knocked a traffic signal into the intersection Saturday night, said Vicksburg Police Sgt. Larry Holloway.

The details of the accident, which occurred around 9 p.m., and the names of those who were taken to River Region Medical Center were not available as of Saturday night.
