Lee Anna Connor

Lee Anna “Auntee” Connor died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was 86.

Born in Clarksdale, Mrs. Connor worked for Coca-Cola for 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Rock of Ages M.B. Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Joe” Connor; a sister, Lillie Lee; a brother, Allen Mason Jr.; a nephew whom she reared, Mathew Lee Jr.; and her parents, Lee Anna Henderson and Allen Mason Sr.

Survivors include three daughters, Charity Mae Burnham of Vicksburg, Brenda J. Lee of Madison, Ala., and Lorraine Smith of Columbus, Ind.; two sons, Douglas C. Lee of Tupelo and Joseph Caldwell Connor of Vicksburg; 10 grandchildren; a niece; a nephew; and cousins and friends, including members of the Smith, Hunt, Dunmore, Prentiss, Williams, Shelby, Jones, Ford and Brown families.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rock of Ages M.B. Church with the Rev. Michael R. Reed Jr. officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
