Robert Lee Young died Monday, April 27, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 62.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Whittmon and Thelma Young; three brothers, Herman Young, Whitt Young Jr. and Leevon Young; and a sister, Freddie Mae Casteal.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Harris Young of Rolling Fork; five sons, Gregory Harris of Charlotte, N.C., Robert Young Jr. of Cary, Marvin Young of Starkville, Jerome Henderson of Glen Allan and Rickey Stewart of Minneapolis; three daughters, Ruby Moore and Marion Tripplett, both of Memphis, and Shelia Marie Young of Starkville; four brothers, Sammie Young of Hollandale, Isadore Young of Indianapolis, Tyrone Young of Greenville and Stanley Young of Jackson; five sisters, Annie Mae Cross and Barbara Reynolds, both of Hollandale, Thelma Collins of Delta City, Lucille Young of Chicago and Bessie Phillip of Indianapolis.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen M.B. Church in Murphy with the Rev. Alonzo Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at the Jonestown Cemetery under the direction of Sanders-Byas Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Hollandale.
