Summer is quickly approaching, and activities are being organized to get students out and about during their time off from school. Offered will be sports camps and day camps to arts and crafts. Registration is usually required, and some programs are free. They include:

Camps

* YMCA’s Warner-Tully — Mini-camp: Ages 6-8, June 19-21, $80 for YMCA members, $100 for nonmembers; weeklong camp: ages 7-13, weeks of June 21, July 5, July 12, July 19, $300; Casey Custer, 601-638-1071; www.vicksburgymca.com.

* YMCA Day Camp — Grades 1-6; Purks on East Clay Street and Verbeck on Oak Ridge Road; 7 a.m.-6 p.m. June 2-July 31;  $30 registration fee, $70 per week for YMCA members and $90 per week for nonmembers; 601-638-1071 or www.vicksburgymca.com.

* Jackson Street Community Center Day Camp — Ages 6-12; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays; registration begins Monday, ends May 31; arts and crafts, athletics, art park trips; free; 601-634-4514.

The arts
