Flashes set pace in state tourney|Prep golf

BRANDON — Chris Ingram carded a first-day total of 74 to lead St. Aloysius to the top of the leaderboard at the Class 1A state championship golf tournament at Bay Pointe Country Club on Thursday.

St. Al leads the tournament by 41 strokes after the team shot a total of 316 in the first round. John Lindigrin was two shots off the lead for medalist honors with a 76. Nick Mekus carded a 79.

Warren Central’s girls finished fourth in the Class 5A state tournament held in Madison, led by Peyton Rutherford’s two-day total of 177. The WC boys finished seventh, led by Parker Rutherford’s 160.
