HERMANVILLE — Luther “Bob” Edwards Jr. died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, in Claiborne County. He was 67.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Edwards Sr. and Willie Mae Brown-Edwards; one daughter, Nicole Jackson; one son, Ron Banks; and a sister and a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie B. Edwards of Hermanville; four sons, Luther Edwards III of Jackson, Bob M. Banks and Shawn L. Banks, both of Hermanville, and Willie Edwards of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four daughters, Victoria Banks of Vicksburg, Bobbie J. Banks and Carolyn Ryals, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and Feleccia Edwards-Jones of Oklahoma City; four brothers, George Edwards of Los Angeles, Lee Otis Edwards and Willie E. Edwards, both of Hermanville, and Ricky Edwards of Jackson; four sisters, lola Banks of Port Gibson and Dorothy Buck, Rosie Ann Washington and Jerrie D. Herring, all of Hermanville; 24 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Annie B. Dixon of Fayette.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Horace McBride officiating. Burial will be at the Banks Family Cemetery in Hermanville. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 tonight at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
