Jim and Debra Hullum of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Kathryn of Clinton, to Christopher Lee Evans. Mr. Evans is the son of Carey and Charlotte Evans of Clinton.

Miss Hullum is the granddaughter of the late Ralph Hullum, Mary Virginia Hullum, the late V.B. Deaton and the late Virginia Deaton, all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Evans is the grandson of the late Walter and Eunice Evans of Clinton and Obed and Obera Germany of Union.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Vicksburg High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in English from Mississippi State University, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, and a master’s degree in teaching from Mississippi College.

Miss Hullum is a fifth-grade teacher at Redwood Elementary.

The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Clinton High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Mr. Evans owns and manages Evans Investments LLC and is a recruiter for Hinds Community College.

The wedding will be at 5 p.m. July 11, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Clinton. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
