Mr. Carter, Miss Davenport are married March 7 in Hattiesburg

Andre Germaine Carter Sr. and Jessica L. Davenport were married at 3 p.m. March 7, 2009, at the Danny Levi Hinton Community Center in Hattiesburg. The Rev. Willis Carter, father of the groom, officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Davenport of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Jones of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Willis Carter of Hattiesburg. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Carter of Hattiesburg.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were Victorian lilac, rose petal, lapis and champagne.

Marcus Carr and Erika Wheeler provided music for the ceremony.

Maid of honor was Catrina James of Hattiesburg. Bridesmaids were Delisha Jones and Amauria Lush, both of Vicksburg, and Margaret Ratcliff of Hattiesburg.

Flower girl was Rickera Atkins of Vicksburg.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Renell Singleton and Jamie Mickles, both of Hattiesburg.

Ushers were Wesley Carter of Hattiesburg and Tony O. Davenport of Jackson.

Ring bearer was Caiden Matthew Davenport of Hattiesburg.

A reception followed the ceremony.

Hostesses were Noel Martin, Brenda Randle, Geraldine Williams, Courtney James and Trudy James.

Tea girls were Ericka Wheeler and Tomesa Martin.

The couple will make their home in Hattiesburg.

The bride, a graduate of Vicksburg High School, attended Utica Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi. The groom, a graduate of Hattiesburg High School, attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a truck driver for C.T. Transportation.
