City woman charged with 3rd shoplifting

A Vicksburg woman was in the Warren County Jail this morning for shoplifting goods at a local store.

Taquelia Thomas, 30, 4907 Gibson Road, was arrested at 8:49 p.m. Monday and charged with third-offense shoplifting, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Thomas was seen leaving Fred’s Super Dollar Store, 3427 Halls Ferry Road, with about $20 worth of hair products and was later caught by Vicksburg police hiding behind the shopping complex adjacent to the store, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Thomas was held on a $15,000 bond.

Truck is stolen from dealership’s lot

A truck in the service department of a local dealership was reported missing.

An employee at George Carr Buick Pontiac Cadillac GMC, 2950 S. Frontage Road, reported a GMC Sierra Z71 pickup missing at 9:16 a.m. Monday after the owner dropped it off for service, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

The vehicle was later recovered abandoned at 5:45 p.m. on New Hope Road by the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office, said Stewart.

Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle and police have no suspect, said Stewart.

Xbox, games missing on Division Street

A residential burglary was reported in the city Monday.

An Xbox game system valued at $400 and seven Xbox games valued at $420 were reported missing at 6:52 p.m. from a home in the 1200 block of Division Street.
