Leandrew “Uncle Buddy” Tolliver Jr. died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at his home. He was 94.

Mr. Tolliver was born in Warren County and was retired from Mississippi Power & Light. He was a member of Cedar Grove M.B. Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and served on the Usher Board.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Tolliver; his parents, Emmanuel and Margaret Smith Tolliver; two sisters, Priscilla Trowell and Lucy Tolliver; and six brothers, Jake Tolliver, Charlie Tolliver, Emmanuel Tolliver Jr., Jim Tolliver, Kemp Tolliver and George Tolliver.

Survivors include four sons, Lee Arthur Tolliver of Fairview Heights, Ill., Leandrew Tolliver Jr. and Clifford Tolliver, both of Aurora, Ill., and Danny Johnson of Vicksburg; two daughters, Sherry Johnson-Durrell and Michelle Johnson-Walton, both of Vicksburg; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
