Hilliard “Butch” Berry Jr. died Monday, May 11, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. He was 60.

A Vicksburg native, Mr. Berry graduated in 1966 from Rosa A. Temple High School. He was employed at the Corps of Engineers and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilliard C. Sr. and Ethel Johnson Berry.

Survivors include a brother, Johnathan Berry of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Blanche B. “Blanchette” Adams of Vicksburg and Ethel B. “Bonnie” James of Mesa, Ariz.; and aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends, including members of the Buck, Fox, Boykins, Johnson and O’Neal families of Vicksburg and the Armstrong family of St. Joseph.
