Services for Charlene E. Simmons will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church with the Rev. Henry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church Friday from noon until the service.

Mrs. Simmons died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

Born in Bolivar County, Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker and a member of New Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church.
