EDWARDS — Services for Robert Shorter will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lakeview Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be today from noon until 6 at the funeral home.

Mr. Shorter of Edwards died Friday, May 15, 2009, at his home. He was 69.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delner Louise Shorter; parents, Leroy and Corrine Shorter; a sister, Ana Lee Davis; and a brother, Johnell Shorter Sr.

Survivors include two sons, Leroy Warfield of Vicksburg and Jimmy Simmons of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; two daughters, Theresa Shorter of Haywood, Calif.; one brother, Willie Shorter of Vicksburg; six sisters, Christine Miller, Julia Reynolds, Lee Esther Hall, Evang Corrine Palmer, Ernestine Willis, all of Vicksburg, and Rosie Lee Shorter of Baton Rouge; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including Jackie Hayes Jefferson Hall of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers will be Jacke H.J. Hall, Thomas L. Hall, Rickey W. Hall Sr., Rickey Hall Jr., Joseph T. Hall, Karl Marshall, Michael L. Hall and Larry J. Hall.

Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Warfield, Jimmy Simmons and Willie Shorter Sr.
