Teen in armed robberies faces extra charge

A Vicksburg teen accused in a series of armed robberies in the city faces additional charges, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said Friday.
Blake Reed, 17, 2501 Culkin Road, Apt. G8, is being charged with another count of armed robbery in an April 30 heist at Clay and Howard streets, Stewart said.
Reed attended a bond hearing Friday, then was taken back to the Issaquena County Jail, where he has been held. Bond was increased $100,000 to $775,000.
Reed was arrested May 13 along with: Sha’Kayla Caples, 18, 414 Ford Road, a Warren Central basketball standout; Deshawn Williams, 17, 297 Douglas Road; and Jacorey Wright, 16, 1405 Locust St.
Caples was released Monday after posting $375,000 bond. Williams and Wright remain in jail. Williams’ bond is $125,000, Wright’s $450,000.
Besides Reed’s additional charge, the four are accused in six of 10 reported armed robberies and attempted armed robberies against pedestrians on Drummond and Mulvihill and Oak and Klein streets, Berryman Road, City Front and other locations.
Vicksburg man held
on court violation
A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail Friday on a Drug Court violation.
Louis Taylor, 21, 601 Locust St., was arrested by sheriff’s deputies.
He was being held without bond.
