A man was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday evening as he was leaving his business on Clay Street.
The victim told police he was leaving A&D Discount Tobacco and Beer at 2901 1/2 Clay St., at about 10:24 when he was approached by a young man who pulled a handgun and demanded money, said Sgt. Sandra Williams of the Vicksburg Police Department.
The victim said he emptied his pockets and the robber fled on foot west on Grove Street with $60 from the victim, said Williams.
The victim described the robber as a black male in his late teens to early 20s, about 5-foot-9 and wearing a black tank top with blue jeans, said Williams.
Williams said this morning that no suspects have been identified and it was not known if the robbery is related to the string of armed robberies reported in the city throughout the month. Four Vicksburg teens were arrested this month and stand accused of seven of the 10 reported robberies.
