I want to thank Mr. Willie Glasper and everyone who helped organize and all who took part in the Memorial Day events.

Their dedication and hard work is greatly appreciated. Thank you to Mr. Glasper for allowing our preschool to take part in the parade and perform at the Memorial Day Service at the auditorium. We feel honored to be part of such a wonderful event.

Loss of life was tragic

On behalf of my family, the Corbins, we would like to thank all of those who expressed sympathy and kindnesses during the recent untimely death of my brother, Thomas Aaron Corbin. Tommy was a wonderful father, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend. He was so dear to us.

Tommy was a  caring, kind and selfless person, and we will never recover from the tragic, senseless loss of his life.

People of Vicksburg have been tremendously caring and loyal to us. The circumstances made the loss much harder to accept. Tommy was trying to do a good deed and, in doing so, he lost his life.

Our love and thanks to all who were there for us.
