Suspect held in shooting

A Vicksburg man hunted for two days in a shooting on Baldwin Ferry Road was in the Warren County Jail late Saturday.

Jarrod Lee, 23, 1710 Bodley St., was arrested Friday in the shooting Wednesday of Travis Stewart, 29, outside Stewart’s home at the Eastview Apartments, 1900 Baldwin Ferry Road. The shooting was reported at 7:37 p.m., and witnesses said the two had argued earlier in the day.

Stewart is charged with drive-by shooting and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to jail dockets. Sgt. Jackie Johnson said Saturday night he had no additional details on Lee’s arrest.

Stewart was taken to River Region Medical Center for injuries to his ankle following the shooting and since has been released, police said. River Region did not return calls.

Police were also looking for a maroon Chevrolet Caprice, Mississippi tag WAH 281, in which Lee was reportedly a passenger at the time of the shooting. The driver of the vehicle has not been identified.

City man held for drug court

Joseph Nash, 21, 209 West Drive, was in the Warren County Jail without bond Saturday night on a drug court violation.

Warren County Deputies arrested Nash Friday night around 11:30, jail records showed.
