LORMAN — Esther Sanders died Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Baton Rouge. She was 87.
Mrs. Sanders was a native of Lorman and had lived in Baton Rouge for a number of years. She was a homemaker and attended Victoria Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Sanders Sr.; her parents, Thomas E. Embry and Pearlie Walters Embry; four brothers; six sisters; and one stepson and one stepdaughter.
Survivors include three sons, James Sanders Jr. of Walker, La., Billy Sanders of Algiers, La., and Edgar Sanders; two stepdaughters, Mary Agnes Sanders Smith of Florida and Jimmie Lee Sanders Meanace of Tennessee; one brother, Jimmy Embry of Lorman; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 9 a.m. until the service.
