Beginning today, a small produce-only market will be open on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Saturday markets will feature produce vendors such as the Ellerbes, as well as those who make baked goods (such as breads and cakes and cookies). And also there will be all types of prepared foods and live music and artists for entertainment.

The Wednesday markets will feature produce vendors only, but there will be plenty of live music for visitors to enjoy.

New at the market

To raise funds for the summertime market, a “Friends of the Market” has been organized. For their donation, shoppers will receive a reusable shopping bag and a gift card redeemable for a free cold drink at the Saturday market.

All market coordinators are volunteers, and funds raised through the Friends of the Market program will pay for advertising and expenses related to making the market grow.
