A Vicksburg man has been charged in the burglary of a North Washington Street business, said Daniel Thomas, a Vicksburg police investigator.

At 9:01 Friday morning, Town and Country Lounge, 3351 N. Washington St., reported stolen a 37-inch Vizio flat-screen TV valued at $647, plus 20 bottles and 12 cans of Bud Light beer.

About an hour and a half later, police arrested Tyler Smith, 51, 3105 N. Washington St., at his home. Smith had fled on foot, and police followed a blood trail from the business to Smith’s home, Thomas said. Blood was found on Smith’s pants and shoes, but he did not appear to have any wounds, Thomas said. It was unclear whose blood it was.
