Dennis, Daniel wed in garden ceremony

Walter Dennis Jr. and Sharon Natae Daniel were married at 5:45 p.m. May 2, 2009, in the garden at Cedar Grove Mansion. The Rev. Steven Randle officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of John H. and Gracie Daniel of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Artimease Clayton and the late Johnny Clayton and Emma Williams, all of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Cynthia Dennis and the late Walter Dennis Sr. of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Clara Ewing of Houston.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were red, mauve and silver.

Nuptial music was presented by Nakita Chambers.

Maid of honor was Angela Daniel of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Tara Bridges, Erica Martin and Roberta Sims, all of Vicksburg; Thyra Dennis and Brandi Freeman, both of Houston; and Juanita Segrest of Fresno, Texas.

Flower girls were Keiren Carroll of Clinton, A’Kyra Harris of Vicksburg and Kennidi Rhodes of Houston.

Terrell Freeman of Houston served as best man. Groomsmen were Terry Colquitt, Jesse Harps, Sean Wallace and Walter Wells III, all of Houston; Lawrence Tucker of Vicksburg; and Roderick Daniel of Jacksonville, Fla.

Ushers were Roderick Daniel Jr. of Jacksonville and Gregory Taylor of Vicksburg.

Ring bearer was Cortez Harris of Vicksburg. Bible carrier was Shelby Daniel of Jacksonville.

Special wedding assistants were Gracie Daniel, Pamela Durman, Willie Walker, Geralline Wilkerson and Jackie Peoples.

A reception followed at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.

Hostesses were Misha Daniel, Tamika Dennis, Angie Freeman, Shelby Samuel and Ramona Taylor. Tea girls were Jada Daniel and Brianna Freeman.

Guests were entertained with music by Disc Jockey Eddie Howard.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Jamaica.

They will make their home in Houston. The bride is employed with the Fort Bend Independent School District, and the groom is employed with the Houston Independent School District.

Rehearsal dinner

The bride and her parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church, Freetown. The groom chose this time to present personalized gifts to his attendants.

Luncheon

The bride’s co-workers honored her with a luncheon at B.J. Brewery in Houston.

Bachelor party

Walter “Trey” Wells honored the groom with a bachelor party at the Houston Banquet Hall.

Bachelorette party

Angela Daniel and friends of the bride honored her with a bachelorette party at The Warehouse Resort.

Shower

Angela Daniel hosted a miscellaneous shower at the home of the bride’s parents.
