Pole work

Jason Davis, left, and Les Harrison, both with B&B Electric in Brandon, position an electrical pole in a 6-foot hole Monday at Washington and Lee streets after the pole was knocked down early Saturday morning. Deputy Police Chief Richard O’Bannon said a witness reported seeing a semi-truck cutting the corner, knocking out the pole and pulling three traffic lights to the ground. The lights were replaced early this morning. The intersection has seen a rise in traffic because of a detour after a railroad bridge at Clark Street, further south on Washington, was closed for repairs in January.
