MARRERO, La. — Julius McGrew died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 61.

Mr. McGrew was a resident of Marrero, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny P. McGrew and Ollie Rogers; a son, Lee Andrew McGrew; one brother, John Wells; and one sister, Carrie Lee Wells.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Lee McGrew of Marrero; three daughters, Carla Chaney of Marrero, Sandra Barnes of Bovina and Joy Brown of Hammond, La.; two sons, Kenny Jackson of Detroit and Julius Brown of Hammond; three brothers, Elder Eddie Lee Wells of Port Gibson, Carl L. Wells of Hermanville and Robert Thomas of Chicago; four sisters, Alma Lawston of Marrero, Annie Lemon of New Orleans, Bobbie Young of Port Gibson and Ellen D. McGrew of Chicago; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Emma Jean Taylor of Marrero.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Hermanville. Burial will follow at White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson from 1 p.m. Saturday until the service. Family hour will be from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday at Jesus Is Lord Evangelistic Ministries, 1728 Hancock St., in Gretna, La.
