Two teens arrested in Wisteria-area thefts

Two 16-year-olds were arrested Wednesday and charged with two auto burglaries in the same neighborhood.

One was charged with a break-in Tuesday  in the 1400 block of Parkside Drive and later released to his mother, said Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart.

The suspect, who had been arrested previously for violation of the summer curfew of midnight, had been found with a Garmin navigation system that had been reported missing from a 2007 Mazda, said Lt. Stewart. An iPod reported missing at the same time was not found.

The second juvenile was arrested at his residence and charged with the theft of a purse from a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country van in the 1400 block of Wisteria Drive on June 11. Wisteria Drive and Parkside Drive are in the same neighborhood off Drummond Street.

He was at the Warren County Youth Detention Center this morning.
