PATTISON — John L. Moore died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Patients’ Choice Hospital in Port Gibson. He was 81.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Ethel Hampton-Moore; wife, Willie Mae Moore; son, Clyde Moore; daughter, Mary Jackson; and three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his daughters, Lou Mary Newsome of Port Gibson, Catherine Mitchell of Leland, and Ethel Jean Moore, Jeanette Jones, Josie Claiborne, Mary McCay and Jacqueline Goods, all of Pattison; sons, Johnnie Lee Hedrick of Pensacola, Fla., and Sylvester Moore and James K. Moore, both of Pattison; brother, Percy O’Quinn of Milwaukee; 28 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at White Hall M.B. Church in Pattison with the Rev. Leroy Dee officiating. Burial will be at Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson and from noon until the service Tuesday at the church.
