Services for Eloise Stewart Chambliss will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jackson Street M.B. Church with the Rev. John Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mrs. Chambliss died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at her home. She was 89.

Born in Newellton, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Jackson Street M.B. Church and the Ladies Modernistic Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Chambliss Sr.; a daughter, Lucille C. Jordan; her parents, Lawrence and Ruby Mayfield and Anderson Stewart; and one grandson, Willie “Pal“ Jordan Jr.

Survivors include one son, Grover Chambliss Jr. of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Ruby Burks and Barbara Daniels, both of Vicksburg; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Daniel and Simone Palmer.
