CHICAGO — Rogene Alexander Spinks died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at her home. She was 63.

Ms. Spinks was a member of St. Joseph Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wyatt and Sarah Wilburn Alexander; and a brother, Ruley “Junior Boy” Burns.

Survivors include her two sons, David Spinks and Derrick Spinks, both of Chicago; four sisters, Anna Rudell Washington of St. Francisville, La., Jurline Hicks Howard of Detroit, Lurline Hicks Green and Mary Powe, both of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Baptist Church, 611 East 39th St., Chicago.
