Warren County supervisors agenda items

Meeting Tuesday, Warren County supervisors:
• Recognized Emergency Management Director Gwen Coleman and Graylyn Crotwell, a mapping supervisor in the Tax Assessor’s Office, for 25 years of service.
• Approved reappointment of John Carlisle as the District 4 representative on the Vicksburg Bridge Commission.
• Approved interlocal agreements with the City of Vicksburg involving the proposed Purple Heart monument and a stimulus-related housing grant program.
Warren County will donate up to $5,000 to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Hill City chapter toward purchase of the monument, with the city paying up to $3,500 and donating the space and placing the foundation. The housing program involves purchasing foreclosed properties and redeveloping them with stimulus money available to Mississippi via the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
• Approved invoices totaling $26,564.05 for County Engineer John McKee and $6,279 for Board Attorney Randy Sherard.
• Approved declaration of a 1976 fire truck formerly used by the Eagle Lake Volunteer Fire Department as surplus for donation to the Town of Anguilla.
• Authorized application to the State Rural Fire Truck fund to apply for money to purchase a new truck for the Bovina Volunteer Fire Department.
• Authorized the board president to sign a support letter to the Mississippi Development Authority for the locally-based Partnership to End Homelessness Inc. The effort is helmed by Tina Hayward, head of the Women’s Restoration Shelter in Vicksburg.
